Hazelnut and Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cookies are one of the easiest bake to make! They need only the basic ingredients, toss in a few chocolate chips or nuts and you are all set! As chocolate and hazelnuts make a good combination, i decided to try baking hazelnut and chocolate chip cookies. They came out lovely, my uncle asked for more to bring to his office! These cookies are super easy to make but are so hazelicious!

Makes 30-35 cookies.

Ingredients:
  • 1 egg
  • 50g of chocolate chips
  • 100g of hazelnuts
  • 50g of butter
  • 70g of sugar
  • 80g of all-purpose flour

Equipment:
  • Oven
  • Whisk
  • Kitchen Scale

Method:

Preheat oven to 200˚C.

Roughly chop the hazelnuts. I decided to use the grinder, because the nuts were a little bit to hard to chop!

This is what I got from grinding the hazelnuts. Hazelnut meal and bits.

Gently melt the butter over a double boiler. You can use the microwave but make sure it does not turn liquid.

Add the sugar to the butter.

Whisk until a soft whitish mixture is formed.

Add the egg and the flour. Mix in.

Lastly add the hazelnuts and the chocolate chips.

Scoop small balls on a baking sheet with parchment paper (I am using a silicone mat so I opted out for the parchment paper). Make sure you leave enough space between the dough, because they are going to flatten out. Bake for 8-10 minutes.

Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on a baking tray.

Happy Eating!
